Safe even in potentially explosive atmospheres

Are you looking for a spring-applied brake that is suited to potentially explosive atmospheres? No problem: All standard brakes of the INTORQ BFK458 series also come in an ATEX version. Even if the atmosphere is only explosive at times, there can never be an ignition source that could result in an explosion.

Braking yields thermal energy, which makes brakes potentially dangerous as per the meaning of the ATEX Directive. But our ATEX brakes are completely safe. The only requirement to use the brakes in Zones 2 and 22: A dust protection ring and a shaft seal ring must be used.

Unique characteristics of the INTORQ BFK458 ATEX:

  • Braking torques from 1.5Nm to 600 Nm
  • 9 sizes
